At EconomicsTheory.co, intellectual integrity requires prompt, transparent accountability. Despite exhaustive multi-stage review, errors of fact, statistical transcription, or mathematical notation can occasionally occur. When they do, we are committed to correcting them quickly and openly.
Our Correction Standards
- Substantive Corrections: If an article contains an error of fact, an incorrect formula, a misattributed quote, or an erroneous numerical statistic, we update the text immediately and append a formal Correction Note at the bottom or top of the post explaining what was changed, why, and the date of the correction.
- Clarifications: If an explanation is technically accurate but potentially ambiguous or misleading to general readers, we revise the phrasing for clarity and append a Clarification Note.
- Minor Typographical Errors: Obvious spelling, grammatical, or punctuation errors that do not alter the factual or economic meaning of the text are corrected directly in the content without a formal notice.
How to Report an Error
We welcome and encourage readers, academic economists, students, and institutional researchers to report any potential inaccuracies. When submitting a correction request, please include:
- The exact URL of the article in question.
- The specific sentence, formula, or figure that is believed to be inaccurate.
- The authoritative primary source or academic reference supporting the correction.
- Your name and contact details (optional, but helpful if our research desk requires follow-up).
Please send all correction submissions directly to publisher@economicstheory.co with the subject line: Correction Request: [Article Title]. Our editorial team reviews submissions within 24 to 48 business hours.
